Rapper, M.I has been named the new boss of one of Nigeria’s leading music labels, Chocolate City.
The confirmation was made by the label minutes ago after an initial announcement at the 2015 edition of the Nigerian Entertainment Conference. At#NECLive3, M.I and Audu Maikori appeared on stage, announcing the reorganisation of the label for the future and announcing that Audu will transit into President of Chocolate City Group in June this year.
In keeping with those words, Audu Maikoriannounced his stepping down on Twitter today, June 30, 2015 and the appointment of M.I who likes to refer to himself as the short, black boy from Jos as new CEO. Also taking over M.I’s former position is rapper, Ice Prince who has been announced as Vice President Music.
According to NET, Audu Maikori who founded the label back in 2005, along with two associates, Yahaya Maikori and Paul Okeugo, will now concentrate on other ventures the group is focusing on while MI and Ice Prince along with other label mates will deal with the music part of things.
