business , what informed that decision ?
I am just an ambassador to a company , Dosmak Nigeria
Limited , which is into property. And that makes me one of the
company ’ s marketers for its property in Lagos and Ogun States.
Are you doing that for free or money is involved ?
Of course , as an ambassador you don’ t expect me not to be
paid. It ’ s an endorsement deal . So , I was paid for it.
How much exactly were you paid for that ?
I can ’ t disclose that . All I know is that I was well paid.
Were you also given some land as an ambassador ?
Yes , it’ s normal to get land in addition to the money .
The impression out there is that movies are not doing well any
more , and that informed why many of you are going into various
businesses , what’ s your take on that ?
That ’ s not true. There is nothing like that at all . I am doing well
in my career as an actress and a movie producer. Even I just
produced a movie , Selimotu Turaka , which will soon be
released .
But a lot of people think most of you actresses are into
prostitution just to live big since movies are no longer selling
as before …
(Cuts in ) That ’ s rubbish. If they say we actresses are into
prostitution and that’ s why we ’ re making it in the industry , what
will they say of the men in the industry ? Are they not making it
or they are also prostitutes ? So , it ’ s a stupid talk .
Your movie , Selimotu Turaka , must have cost you a lot of
money ?
All I can just say is that it ’ s a multi - million naira movie .
Who are the actors paraded in the flick ?
I have Muyiwa Ademola , Fathia Balogun , Femi Adebayo , Sanyeri
Afonja , Tijani Adekola , Ijebu , myself and others.
Is it 100 per cent comedy?
Yes , it’ s comedy all through .
It ’s quite a while you released a movie , why did you wait till
now?
No , I have not waited for long. My last movie was released last
year , and that’ s Afopina. Now , I have completed my latest
movie , Selimotu Turaka . And it ’ s going to be talk - of - the - town .
We also learnt you deal in wears , how true is it ?
It ’ s true. I am dealing in wears . I have been doing that ever
before acting.
How do you juggle all these , acting , property and selling of
wears ?
Nothing disturbs the other . Being an actress has not in any way
affected other businesses.
There was this tale a couple of months back that a sugar daddy
has opened a multi- million naira boutique for you in Idimu ,
Lagos ?
That ’ s a stupid rumour . There is nothing like that. I don’ t even
own a shop let alone a multi- million naira boutique . I don’ t know
where they got that.
You said you don’ t have a shop , how do you now keep your
items?
I am a businesswoman . I know how to go about that.
Does that mean you don’t have a man rocking your world at the
moment?
That ’ s my private life and I want it to remain so .
What ’s your candid assessment of the industry right now?
Things are moving . I can ’ t say there is poverty in the industry
because no matter the economic situation in the country , we ’ re
still doing better. But the only thing killing the industry is piracy.
We really need government participation in fighting that because
we alone can ’ t do it .
