ADELE has been accused of ripping off a classic track penned
by US legend Tom Waits.

Fans of gravel-voiced Tom say her comeback single Hello
copies his 1975 cult number Martha.

In his song which, like Hello is about calling a lover, 65-year-old
Tom sings:

“Hello, hello there, is this Martha? This is old Tom Frost. And I’m
calling long distance, don’t worry ’bout the cost. Cause it’s been 40
years or more, now Martha please recall. Meet me out for coffee,
where we’ll talk about it all.”

Adele, 27, starts:

“ Hello, it’s me, I was wondering if after all these years you’d like to
meet. To go over everything. They say that time’s supposed to heal
ya, but I ain’t done much healing.”

One Tom fan said:

“ Hello was done 1,000 times better by him in the ’70s.”
